Rob Dyrdek Experiences Laird’s Life

I am not going to have a wife moment, but I love the fact that over a year ago I told Laird he would have a lot of fun with Rob Dyrdek of “Rob and Big” and “The Fantasy Factory”. Well low and behold LH spent the last week with RD.

Rob and the MTV crew had to extend their trip a few days in order to wait for the waves. At first, I don’t think he could get his mind around the fact that there just weren’t any waves, and that there was absolutely nothing they could do about it. This ended up giving him an even better understanding of what Laird and surfers in general go through on a daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, and a life time basis. Waiting for the waves!

The great thing about having to stay a few extra days on Kaua’i is Laird had the opportunity to show him the NaPali coast (to me one of the most exquisite places on the planet) and they had more time to do man camp, and ‘man’ land types of activities. I won’t spoil it all now since the show will air in a few months, but needless to say I’m not sure how many women were allowed down in this fun man land area. Oh, and another great part of this story is bad ass skateboarder Danny Way came with Rob, and was a part of this testosterone injected time full of laughs, lessons, and fun.

We will give you the heads up when the show is airing. We love these boys, but the other great character in the show will be the beautiful Kaua’i.

Great. I can’t wait to see the video footage once the show comes out. Laird and crew just have so much fun, don’t they? Awesome.

Dave Kalama runs Kalama Kamps. As easy as it sounds to put together camps it is a business. Dave has worked hard on making his camps high quality and fun.

Hello -

I googled Kalama Kamps but was unsuccessful finding a link that works. The contact information for Kalama Kamps provided in Laird’s latest book also doesn’t seem to work.
Hence, would it be possible to let us know how to reach Dave and/or book Kalama Kamps?

I would be very grateful.
