  11. I would first like to thank Laird to bring this sport back into the world, and today I am very grateful to him, for stand up paddle is my life, I am a teacher in southern Brazil, where I have a school sup, and created a federation in the south Brazil to do events and promote the sport.
Thank Laird, do not know if being from Brazil to participate in the promotion, but I would like to leave my message for you.
    Thank you very much

First up thanks to the big fella for being an inspiration to most who stumble across him- myself included.

What would I do with a brand new SUP? Drive my wife mad? Nah- take her out and ride tandem or in a few years take my new beautiful daughter out for a paddle.

Hope he’s good for the cost of shipping though………..Cornwall in the UK is great for Surf at the moment and has been all year.

    Aloha to all.

    Shep

I went out for the first time in Septmber on my cousins Laird board. I used it to paddle out my dad’s ashes to spread it out in our bay Jack’s Bay in Kuau Maui. I loved it.

I started SUPing almost two years ago. I bought the Laird 12′1 tuflite. I have to say thank you Laird for this board and getting me started on SUP!!!!!!!!!! I have surfed now for twentysix years on the south east coast of Florida so when I saw paddleboarding I was like OHHH YEAHHH. What I saw before my eyes was a longboard with a motor. I was absolutely blown away and had to try it that second. The next day I tried it and have been hooked at six days a week since. No more flat spell headaches and I feel great all the time.

Thanks again for you letting me discover SUP.

Bringing the sport to Thailand!! SUP is great and I am enjoying paddling over the reefs here and surfing the Thailand waves (1-2 foot) not big but nothing like living on an island among the coconut trees – living the life. A great balance of work/play. Teaching SUP to people from all over the world from Sweden to Dubai and all places beyond. Also enjoyed the laird book. Great philosophy on life!

  17. giorgia piekarski says:

I am going to try again, I hope i am doing this right. I think I should win because my heart is in the ocean, and I just moved back to Maui to live forever. ANd I will paddle for ever and ever.there.I grew up watching waves in Oregon

  18. Jeff says:

  21. Dan says:

Thank you for getting the boards to the people and the people on board… in Oregon a spin in my jeep would clear my head and make the world seem right. Here in Maui, still got the jeep, but it’s SUP/the ocean, family, and friends that give me life. Mahalo and keep spreading the aloha!

  22. Dave Hicks says:

First paddled on Judd Lake on a 12′1″ board that Laird brought to the Tordrillo Lodge in 2007. Since then have been a week behind Laird at Kings and Corn in June and April powder riding with Overcast, Nobis, Moe.
Paddle a 12″1 Laird Tuflite almost daily, year round, at White Rock Lake in Dallas (45 degrees yesterday) with Keeney and Lizzy or on the Snake River with Tommy Moe near our home in Jackson Hole.

Now that it’s catching in Dallas, I’m loaning my board out alot and its getting really beat up. Sure could use a new 14 footer for the flat water Laird!

Also, are shaping any wide 10 footers for white water river running? Finally, thanks for “Force of Nature”. It’s an inspiration for this 55 year old.

  23. Hamakua says:

Aloha Hope I win because I can’t afford one.
